Aquarium Heater
Some of the prettiest fish to look at come from tropical waters. It’s obvious that these waters are a bit warmer than most homes, so in order to keep the temperature of your tank right you’ll need an aquarium heater to make sure your fish are happy and healthy in their new habitat. In addition to the heater itself, purchase a thermometer to make sure that your tank is always at the right temperature and your product is working properly.
There are two basic kinds of models available. The first is a submersible unit that simply heats up the water by activating a heating element just like stove, though not as hot, of course. These are easy to install and work pretty directly on the water. However, you are unfortunately burdened with having to look at a large object inside your habitat. It can sort of ruin the look and appearance, however convenient.
As an alternative there are models that can heat the water through the filter or pump you already have. This is way better looking, but you’ll have to make sure that your model of filter or pump can have a heating element added to it in order to use one of these models. These are probably the best choice as they do not ruin the aesthetic and still heat the water without taking up more space around your tank.
Make sure you monitor the temperature closely to keep it constantly stable. It is very unhealthy for the fish to endure strong temperature fluctuations. Also consider the amount of heat that your lamps produce as well when setting your model to the correct temperature.
